You need to take out the cams to adjust the valve clearance, but when the valve cover is off anyway it’s just a 15 minute job.
A lot easier than it may look 🙂

After 20.000 km. Nice light brown color, and only little signs of wear. Only the gap has widened to 1.0 mm.
New plugs are being installed as a part of the 40.000 km service.

The F800S is not the fastest steering bike, so I lowered the front end 8mm in the triple clamps to see if I can make the steering quicker without compromizing top speed stability.

The front fork is slightly underdamped with the stock 10w damper oil so I swapped it for the heavier 15w oil.
The bike is much more stable now when braking into corners. Very happy with the result 🙂

I probably did not have to exchange the brake fluid before winter, but we are going a week to the Dolomite mountains next month, so better safe than sorry.
