Many tracks in the mountains, and I found a few that was suitable for my street tyres and my skills 🙂
The mountains here are loaded with monuments of dead heroes – most of them dating from the 1878 Russian-Turkish war.
Just for sightseeing and a late lunch.
I ordered Mish-mash: a traditional Bulgarian spring dish made form tomatoes, peppers, onion, egg, and cheese. Quite tasty 👍
Found in downtown Veliko Tarnovo.
It was a few hundred meters long and was fencing off something that could have been a military camp. Never seen anything like it.
A few morning shots as I get ready to leave.
If you are in the area on a motorcycle trip, this is THE place to stay. There is nothing quite like it 👍👍👍
On the UNESCO world heritage list.
Dug into a vertical cliff in an almost circular valley.
800 year old paintins, and amazing to see a picture of “the last supper”, 130 years older than the one by Leonardo da Vinci.
Anazing place !
The 3rd one I have seen on this trip !
More colors and decorations than seen on the churches back hone …
Beautiful sights everywhere.
