Kaliningrad borders 2020

The red building is the castle in Ryn.

It is converted to a medieval style hotel. A bit overkill, but a fun place to stay 🙂

I passed this ruin in a small village and stopped to take a photo.

The gate was locked and there was no public access, but the friendly owner waved me in through another gate and allowed me to walk around on my own and take pictures.

Great and unexpected experience 🙂

The castle was destroyed by Russian forces in 1945.

Highly recommended if you are in the area.

No beer drinking at the pub as I was not finished riding the bike for today.

But I did buy a couple of souvenir beers 🙂

I was allowed to explore the unrestored parts of the fort on my own with a flashlight 🙂
