 Passion and Curiosity !

JENS LYCK

What’s it all about ?

Did the ”Passion and Curiosity” quote make you stop for a second and wonder what this site is about ?

Motorcyclelife.eu is documenting my motorcycle trips across most of Europe as well as modifications and improvements on my bikes.

It’s my hope that the content on the site will inspire other people to visit new places on their motorcycle – it’s such a great way to travel.

Motorcycles are all about passion, and the urge to travel and explore new places is caused by curiosity – So the quote describes the contents of the site in just two words.

You have now been warned about what is ahead – enjoy the site 🙂

Christian borderland …

This small chapel marks the outer edge of the Christian world.

It is the last church, in the last village, in the last valley.

On the other side of the mountains, the babarians lived 😳

Road to Ushguli …

From Mestia you go east through the valleys of the high Kaukasus mountains (aprox. 50 km)

The roads gets worse and worse and you have to cross e few streams on the way.

Ushguli is the last village and the road stops here. (Apart from a 3000 meter high gravel track that is only open a few months every year)

Kaukasus mountains …

A long day ride from Oni to Mestia in the beautiful Kaukasus mountain range.

– and a pleasant meeting with a french bijer 👍

Special sightseeing …

The owner took me on a special tour up in the mountaibs close to the South Ossetian border where I would not dare to go on my own. (South Ossetia is occupied by russian forces)

  • Mineral water spring. This olace was a big rheumatism sanatory until it was bombed by the russians in 2008. Only thing left is the spring that still pumps mineral water.
  • 3 hidden waterfalls (we saw wolves footprints near one of them)
  • Abandoned village. The owners left in 2008 because of the war with Russia in this area.
